We’re still paying the price for the bad advice men have been given.
By telling men they could take dominance as a shortcut to masculinity, we ended up with a bunch of man-boys.
They felt like men by bossing women around.
So they didn’t need to do the hard work of growing up. No need for humility, sacrifice, service, endurance, or wisdom.
Dominance didn’t just cheat us of healthy partners. It cheated the world of grown men.
We Need Grown Men
The world is hard, and it’s only getting harder. We need each other – men and women both.
We need partnership. We need someone to lean on. We need a second pair of hands.
What we don’t need is another kid to look after.
Too many woman have to be the woman AND the man in their relationship, because their partner is stuck in his toddler phase.
By choosing dominance instead of maturity, he makes himself unattractive. Research shows that the quickest way to tank a woman’s libido is to make her feel like her romantic partner is another kid she has to take care of.
Ah, the irony.
What Really Turns Women Off
When the Dominance Code convinced men that women are turned off by a lack of dominance, it completely missed the boat.
What turns women off is a lack of maturity.
(Competence is so underrated and so incredibly hot. ❤️🔥)
But men’s dating advice can’t give up its dominance obsession.
Even when it comes to immaturity, women are criticized for treating their partners like babies and thereby “emasculating” them.
It’s not women who made men immature. They did that themselves.
We Trust Adult Men
To add just one more layer of irony on top, you know which kind of man women most trust to lead and guide them?
It’s not the dominant “alpha male.”
It’s the competent, mature man.
We trust men who’ve proven themselves to act like adults in every possible situation, including stressful ones.
So take a long, hard look at those men in your life who want to be seen as The Man.
How mature are they?
If the stuff hit the fan, would you trust them to have your back?
