Your kids have a coach cheering them on every step of the way. Wouldn’t it be nice have your own coach cheering you on as a mom? “Don’t give up! You can do it! You’re doing GREAT!”
Well, you’re in luck. Because there is actually such a thing as a mom coach. A coach JUST for moms.
Carrie Anne Killeen is a dream lifestyle coach for moms. She helps moms blast through limitations and reach for that dream life—the one that got buried under mounds of dirty laundry and stacks of homework.
In this YBTV interview, Carrie shares her tips for turning stress and challenges into opportunities and freedom.
What You’ll Learn
Behind every stressor is potential. It’s hidden potential that, when used the right way, can actually create something new.”
Carrie Anne Killeen felt stuck.
“I was a phys ed teacher,” she explains. “I went to work in sweatpants. That felt so wrong, because … on the inside I felt like this force of nature, like I’m here to do something so big I don’t even know yet what that is.”
Then her relationship ended, leaving her with three children to raise on her own.
“The breakup of my family was one of the most challenging things ever,” she says. But she made it through.
Today, her life looks a whole lot different. “I am full force with creating an empire, and [my daughters] are along for the ride with me. We are a team,” she says.
I spend very little if any time worrying about my children’s future… I know that the choice I made to fill myself and move myself forward is all that it takes for my kids to have like a great life.”
If you’re like many mothers, creating a great life for your kids starts with worrying about them. So how did Carrie shift from fear for the future to confidence in her power to create her destiny?
“First of all, it came through my own realization that I was becoming my mom—and there’s nothing against that. However, it did not feel authentic, and it was not working.”
She decided there had to be a better way.
“I found myself constantly having these limiting beliefs about what was possible, but I knew that there was something more possible for me that I just had to figure out how to access.”
This led to her becoming a coach specifically for mothers. She created a Facebook page called The Nourished Momma. Central to it is the idea that a woman benefits her children most when she prioritizes her own growth and fulfillment.
“When I am in a challenge with my children,” Carrie says, “I don’t look at the challenge as something that’s stopping me or my kids. I actually look at it as, ‘What am I learning that I need to learn that’s new, in order to create something I’ve never created before?’ And it always has to do with growth.”
Many of her clients have the sense that there’s something more out there for them than simply earning a living and taking care of everyone else.
She sees a global shift happening, in which “women are following their desires as creative beings to create outside of themselves the life that they want.”
For Carrie, that means creating financial freedom without sacrificing family life.
And she’s managed to achieve it for herself. Today, she and her daughters “are in this chapter of our lives [where] we’re actually starting to live the dream that I’m creating, which is going to be all about the freedom lifestyle. It’s really all about Mom owning a business [and] kids being able to enjoy being kids, with no pressure.”
Transforming pressure into opportunity is a big part of what she does as a coach.
What happens a lot in families is Mom feels pressure, and that pressure actually goes to the children and blocks their own potential. When a mom fully takes care of herself and doesn’t have the pressure—or doesn’t allow the pressure in—she thrives, and the children thrive with her.”
So what is it like, working with a mom coach?
When Carrie coaches stressed-out moms, “the first thing that I would do is I would ask you, ‘What does your desired life look like? If you could step out of the chaos of the everyday, what do you want your life to look like?”
Once she has that answer, she asks a second question.
“Given that information, what’s stopping you from already having that feeling?”
Her advice for a mom who feels paralyzed by decisions at every turn is to let go of the beliefs stopping you from feeling confident in your choices.
“There is a way … to create a future where every step that you take is actually a step towards your freedom rather than thinking that it is a landmine,” she says.
It involves releasing “the old belief system and the old energy that is keeping you in the belief that every step that you take is going to lead to something bad. There’s a layer of letting the mom guilt go and a layer of forgiveness about your journey as a mom, your journey as a woman, being all part of the amazing process that has led you to be where you are today.”
Self-love is part of the process. It can be used as a “tool to amplify everything in your life: peace, harmony, money, everything.”
As a result of this 3-step process, Carrie’s clients go on to enjoy sacred union partnerships, wealth, abundance, and a fulfilling career path. Find out more about her coaching at The Nourished Momma.
