In the 20th Century:
A relationship is a step on the road to marriage.
In the 21st Century:
A relationship is whatever you decide it is.
Not everyone wants the same thing from a relationship.
One person may see a relationship as a testing ground for marriage.
Another person may see it as a temporary alliance for the purpose of having fun.
When a man asks you to be his girlfriend, you probably don’t take a step back and say: “But what do you MEAN by that?”
I’m not saying you should…
But before agreeing to anything, it pays to know what you’re getting into.
Questions to consider:
- What are you agreeing to when you’re agreeing to a relationship?
- Do you think he would give the same answer?
- How might it feel to talk about it?
Let us know what you think!
