What To Do After a First Date with a Great Guy

How many first dates have you gone on that fizzled and flopped?

You wish you were home in your pajamas watching Netflix. You can’t believed you turned down an evening with the girls to meet this guy.

But every so often you go on a first date that makes all the previous duds worth it.

The butterflies in your tummy don’t quiet down after you’ve bid him goodbye. As you make your way home, you relive every aspect of the date in your head. You’re still buzzed on the pleasure of his company. You can’t help but wonder if your life has just change forever.

You want to see him again. Immediately. But that’s not cool. You can’t appear to be too eager.

How long do you need to wait before calling or texting him? How long is it going to be before he reaches out? Ah!!!!!! What should you do???

First, you need to have a process to decide whether this person truly has the qualities you need in a life partner. You may have chemistry, he may be great fun, but if you’re in the market for forever after, you need to make sure he measures up. No willy-nilly dating here. We only focus our time on dates that meet the standard we know we need!

Now, assuming he has the traits you NEED, the next step is super-simple:

Do absolutely NOTHING.

Don’t overthink it. Don’t text him. Do NOTHING.

“But WHY, Mike???” you may be asking.

Because what he does next will tell you EVERYTHING you need to know about whether he feels the same or not.

If he texts or calls you within 48 hours, that’s a promising sign. If he asks you out again within 48 hours, this is a great sign.

If a man is interested in you, he will go through hell and high water to spend more time with you. You need not do anything. He will make it happen.

If, for some reason, he doesn’t reach out, don’t be insulted. Even though you may feel upset, know that his decision has NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU PERSONALLY.

He is not interested simply because he is looking for something different. That “something different” could be a million things. Here are few examples:

1. He wants sex and realizes you want a relationship.
2. He wants someone athletic, and you are more of a book person.
3. He prefers curvy women, and you’re slim.
4. He only dates circus clowns.
5. And the list goes on…

My point is simple. When you like someone and they don’t like you back, it is easy to think something is wrong with you. However, that is 100% NOT the case. The person is simply looking for something different.

You are fantastic in your own right. This guy is just the wrong guy for you. Every pot has a lid. This is not your lid, so keep searching.

So relax. You don’t have to worry about what to do after a promising first date. Just do NOTHING.
